AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS
Edith has a passion to assist individuals in creating a balance between their thoughts and emotions. She combines cognitive behavioral therapy, which assists individuals in identifying behaviors, as well as thoughts that are interfering with their quality of life. In addition, she uses experiential therapy, which assists in the expression of emotional experience. She uses the Bible as the foundational road map to guide individuals in achieving their God given potential. Edith believes that God is the ultimate source that helps individuals grow and heal, but sometimes a little help is needed to begin the process.
Edith strives to create a safe and compassionate atmosphere. At the same time, she is firm by “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). Although growth is mainly God’s work, she believes that membership in the body of Christ is needed. Growth does not occur in isolation and it is not automatic. We are fellow workers with God and as such, God seeks our cooperation – “For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building” (1 Corinthians 3:9). Edith sees therapy as a way of equipping individuals to search deep within their hearts (Psalm 139:23) and continue personal cultivation. Therapy can be a way to removing thorns and stones so that the seed can grow in the believer’s life.
She offers therapy in English and Spanish.
