AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS
While always “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of (our) faith,” (Heb 12:2), Dave offers a non- judgmental and multicultural style that conveys God’s love, mercy and healing. He understands the need to first find a spark of hope, and then build upon that hope with faith and care.
His eclectic approach, using cognitive as well as other approaches, has been already been applied to help treat couple issues, communication, career guidance, blended families, addictions and compulsive behaviors, traumas, grief and loss, physical and sexual abuse, anxiety and panic, low self-image, depression or mood swings, and mental illness.
After serving nineteen years in Christian ministry both a paid staff member and continuous volunteer, obtaining a master’s degree in psychology and then becoming a Christian therapist was a natural progression for Dave as he keeps on serving and following our Lord.

A SEASONED COUNSELOR
Dave began his pre-graduation clinical training as a volunteer for the Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Carpinteria providing individual and group counseling for resident men struggling with drug addiction and related problems. Upon graduation he began working full-time at a non-profit foundation in Ventura that provides rehabilitative services to clients diagnosed with a variety of moderate to severe mental illnesses.
COMMITTED TO MINISTRY
Dave has been in ministry for over nineteen years - both a paid staff member and continuous volunteer – and relies on God’s enabling power to help him counsel every client. He wants each one to learn how to find our Lord’s grace, mercy, healing and direction for themselves. After nearly fifty years of personal experience following our Lord, Dave has learned how to see God at work helping him in his own life, and enjoys helping others to see God’s loving presence at work in their lives, too.
